SHIPPING POLICY

Shipping Policy Shipping and Handling

We have researched the options used by other retailers and distributors and our shipping options are set out to be inline and competitive with comparable outlets/options. Books, and multiples of, can be heavy and incur expensive delivery charges so we have tried to list these in a concise format below to help avoid any confusion. We use Royal Mail, Parcel Force, and, where needed, a courier to aim for delivery within THREE - SEVEN WORKING DAYS in the UK Monday - Friday, For overseas and worldwide no more than 28 working days. Where possible we recycle packing materials and we aim to use as much biodegradable material in our packaging as possible. Available postage and packing charges are listed at the checkout and we offer as follows:

UK Delivery 1st Class - £3.75

Where possible in stock items are despatched within 24 hours. At times your item(s) may be sent in separate parcels. Normal delivery time using this option should take 1-2 working days to arrive. This option is available for delivery to UK mainland addresses: Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays.

UK Delivery 2nd Class - £2.75

Where possible in stock items are despatched within 24 hours. At times your item(s) may be sent in separate parcels. Normal delivery time using this option should take 3-5 working days to arrive.

Delivery to UK mainland addresses: Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays. 

For orders over £20 this option is FREE


Signed for overnight UK Courier - £7.95

Where possible in stock items are despatched within 24 hours. At times your item(s) may be sent in separate parcels. Normal delivery should take 1 working day to arrive. If you live in the UK and would like next working day delivery, there is an option at the check out page. Next working day delivery orders must be received before 2pm. Orders received after this time will be dispatched the following day. Please note this is next WORKING day delivery, Saturday is not classed as a working day. Please also note this option has to be signed for.

Please be aware that:

  • This method can be tracked and traced and is one of the most secure options available.

  • Items despatched on a Friday will normally be delivered the following Monday.

  • Items despatched over the weekend will normally be delivered the following Tuesday.

  • Orders placed after 2pm may not be dispatched until the following day.

  • Items sent via this method will require a signature upon receipt. Occasionally people have an arrangement with local delivery partners to place their items in an agreed location. No responsibility will be taken if the delivery partner is instructed to leave the item/order in an agreed location without a signature.


Overseas / Rest of the World Delivery - £12.50 + £1 Per Additional Item

Estimated delivery time: 7 - 10 working days from despatch.

Certain addresses will be POA (price on application) signed for overseas (requires address/postal/Zip code)

Taxes and Duties

The prices payable for goods are as set out in the website, these prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable (books are currently zero rated). Customers ordering for delivery outside of the UK will be responsible for payment of any local taxes payable including VAT, and will be required to pay extra for delivery and clearance where necessary.

 

Customs Charges

We will endeavour to advise of any additional charges, however, if you are ordering goods for delivery outside of the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, these taxes/charges are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Ruth Saberton T/A Millington Publishing has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. We strongly recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer.

 

Delivery Schedule

We aim to process all orders as soon as promptly as possible. If we receive your order before 2pm Monday - Friday, whenever possible we will despatch on the same day. If items are out of stock and are due in within 48 hours we will hold the order to despatch in one parcel.

We want to offer all customers as much protection as possible and ensure that your full consumer protection rights apply. You have fourteen working days from date of delivery to cancel your order and return the goods (in an as new and undamaged condition) for a full refund of the purchase price. We will not refund postage and packing or return postage and packing.

Back Orders

In the unlikely event that the item you have ordered is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY

We always aim to fulfil all orders accurately, but sometime mistakes happen. If we send you the wrong book or item, we will cover the return postage and despatch the correct item.

If your purchase is damaged during delivery, please e-mail us immediately preferably with picture to show any damage and we will arrange return and a credit or refund.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for a change of mind - we will exchange if the item is returned in 'as new' condition but the additional postage costs incurred must be at your expense. This must be within the fourteen-day period.

In today’s electronic and digital world, it is very easy to track deliveries, report a problem, send photos to show damage and generally maintain a high-level communication.

 

Please note we must be notified no later than four weeks after you have placed your order for any issue to be recognised.

 

If you have not notified us within this time limit we will not be able to accept returns or re-send items lost or damaged in the post. 

 

If you request that your parcel is left in an agreed place and the delivery company comply and leave the parcel there, we cannot accept responsibility if the parcel goes missing.
